Cup measures: 3 1/4 inches tall x 2 1/2 inches wide and holds just over 4oz
This little cup is perfect for wine, or a little juice, or even as a bud vase!
Several similar cups are currently available in the shop, they are friends but not identical.
This little cup was wheel thrown from porcelain, splashed with cobalt stain and lined with a ivory white glaze, then fired in a soda kiln. This type of kiln has varied results, no two items are ever alike! In this type of firing soda ash is injected into the kiln when it reaches nearly peak temperature, the soda flies around in the kiln and lands all over the pottery making the glaze and causing an interesting “orange peel” texture. After the firing I drew on the piece using underglaze - stars, ladders, landscape - then fired them again in an electric kiln to make sure the drawings become permanent.
