Jenny’s Library for a Butterfly is part of this special exhibition at Casper’s Art Guild! She was asked to create a piece inspired by entomology and after finding a flight-less Monarch outside of her studio door she came up with a teeny tiny bug-sized library.
This exhibit invites artists to delve into the intricate, often overlooked world of insects, encouraging them to uncover the beauty and complexity of nature’s smallest creatures. Through this exhibit, we challenge artists and viewers alike to EXPLORE the unseen and foster a deeper appreciation for the ecosystems that surround us.
From the delicate wings of butterflies to the intricate patterns of beetles, we encourage you to interpret the insect world's beauty, mystery, and sometimes quirkiness in your art.
If you find yourself in Casper Wyoming before the end of February be sure to check out this show and see how all the artists interpereted this theme!

This class will concentrate on pottery forms to fast fire with a Raku kiln. The class will throw on the wheel the first 3 weeks of the class, working on bottles, jugs and vases. The last 3 nights of class we’ll explore fast firing techniques with horse hair, feathers and Obvara. We’ll also fire our ware in traditional Western Raku to produce the white crackles and crazy copper blues and oranges. Principles of firing in the Raku tradition will be covered, as well as the history of Obvara – a Baltic region technique that produces wonderful patterns that can look like animal prints or wood.–Prerequisite: Wheel 1, or fundamental wheel throwing skills
