Wheel thrown from a warm white porcelain, the surface has been decorated with white underglaze and sgraffito for a subtle white on white effect. A tiny black dot inlay line adds to the scallop pattern. And the smooth surface has been finished with a clear glossy glaze.

This is a steeping teapot. Not for use on the stove! Boil the water separately, and pour it over tea bags or loose leaf tea in a tea baller that have been placed in the teapot. Steep. The teapot will keep your tea warm.

This is my favorite way to make tea, so of course this is my favorite type of teapot. It does not have a built in strainer (because I like to make things easy to clean) so be sure to put loose leaf tea in a tea strainer first.
